Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva announced a new initiative focused on providing agricultural training to African nations, calling it a step toward an “agricultural revolution” on the continent. Lula said Brazil’s federal universities, Embrapa and federal institutes would collaborate to teach modern farming techniques both in person and through distance learning.

The Brazilian president described the effort as a way to address the historic legacy of 350 years of slavery and strengthen Brazil–Africa cooperation ahead of the G20 Summit in South Africa. Lula also highlighted the importance of Brazil hosting COP30 in the Amazon region, framing it as a “cultural revolution” that expands national development beyond the south-southeast.
