In this video, we demonstrate the Back Sight Method for leveling using a Sokkia Robotic Total Station. First, we select the Resection method in the instrument and enter the benchmark elevation along with the rod height if required. Next, we take a shot on the benchmark, allowing the total station to calculate its height. Once this is done, the instrument is ready to provide elevations anywhere on the site—simply aim at the desired point and take a measurement. To get the elevation of any point, go to the manual menu and select the Coord A option, which displays the calculated level instantly. This method allows accurate and efficient leveling without a conventional leveling instrument.
