During a business forum in Mozambique, Lula emphasized the urgency for nations to define sovereign models for the exploitation of these resources, protecting the interests of developing countries. The Brazilian leader had already highlighted the importance of critical minerals such as lithium, nickel, cobalt, manganese, graphite, and rare earth elements during the G20 summit in Johannesburg, pointing out their fundamental role in the energy transition and technological sovereignty.
