Curious, she rang it—and the echo spread through the entire valley. The air turned heavy, the diya went out on its own, and red liquid began dripping from the idol’s eyes.
When she tried to escape, the door slammed shut. A woman’s voice whispered, “Now you will take my place.”
By morning, villagers found the idol changed… its face now looked exactly like Reena’s, and the temple bell rang on its own.
