Panama Limited Jug Band — Panama Limited Jug Band 1969 (UK, Folk, Country Rock)

In the late 1960s, in London's Richmond district, Dennis Parker (vocals), Gary Compton (harmonica), and Brian Strachan (guitar) formed the Panama Limited Jug Band, named after the song of the same name by the famous American blues guitarist Bukka White. In 1969, the band released an album of the same name. On this album, the music gravitates toward a more uninhibited and unpolished folk blues, with farmhouse banjo, shrill harmonica, the mocking vocals of Dennis Parker and Liz Hanns, and an overall fairground atmosphere, somewhere between "Mungo Jerry" and "Tob Jug Band." A great record in every sense.
