DSWD warns against scammers impersonating officials in Central Visayas

Scammers have been impersonating officials from the Department of Social Welfare and Development in Central Visayas, including using the name of Regional Director Shalaine Lucero to solicit money from residents and suppliers. Lucero confirmed to local media in Cebu on Dec. 9, 2025, that these incidents were deliberate attempts to exploit vulnerable communities and warned the public to remain vigilant against such schemes. DSWD 7 highlighted that it maintained strict transparency in all its operations.
