Gilas off to strong start

Gilas Pilipinas started its title defense with an 83-58 rout of Malaysia at the 33rd Southeast Asian Games men's 5-on-5 basketball at the Nimibutr Stadium Sunday, December 14.

Ray Parks Jr. led the Filipinos with 18 points and six rebounds while Thirdy Ravena backstopped him with a double-double of 13 points and 10 rebounds laced with four assists.

Gilas faces Vietnam on Monday.
