BRABUS 800 CABRIO and BRABUS XL 800 CABRIO: With these two open-top supercars, the German luxury manufacturer is expanding its extensive portfolio of masterpiece supercars. A limited edition of 50 vehicles will be produced for each of the two models, based on the current Mercedes-AMG G 63 of the W 465 series.
The open, four-door body was developed by BRABUS engineers, technicians, and designers using state-of-the-art CAD and simulation technology and subjected to rigorous testing before production release.
This resulted in an innovative convertible concept that sets new standards in terms of structural rigidity, durability, and safety: Through the use of high-strength steel, the body achieves torsional rigidity on par with the closed base vehicle.
The extensive stress tests included a shaker test with peak loads of up to 7G, simulating over 100,000 kilometers driven, as well as the successful completion of the mandatory rollover test.
More than 500 specially developed components form the basis of the custom-designed convertible top, which opens or closes electrically at the touch of a button in just 20 seconds, offering up to five occupants a unique open-air experience.
