Russian President Vladimir Putin addressed an informal meeting of Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) leaders, highlighting a Russian initiative to publish unique archival materials documenting the contribution of each allied republic to the defeat of Nazism.
Putin stressed the importance of coordinated approaches to global and regional issues and said all CIS states support a just world order based on international law and the central role of the United Nations. He also noted that settlements in national currencies between CIS countries now exceed 96 percent.
