The municipality of Laroque, in the department of Hérault, has been identified as one of the most critical areas after heavy storms caused the river to overflow, flooding urban centers since December 20. Images from the town reveal the magnitude of the disaster, with waters invading residential and commercial areas. In response to persistent rainfall, the meteorological service activated an orange alert in the departments of Aveyron, Hérault, Lozère, Tarn, and Var, warning that adverse atmospheric conditions could also extend to the Principality of Andorra.
