Ukraine’s Security Service (SBU) said it struck a Russian Navy Il-38N anti-submarine aircraft in a drone attack at the Yeysk airfield in southern Russia.

According to the SBU, the action took place prior to the explosion of a Varshavyanka-class submarine in Novorossiysk, as stated in a communiqué released by the agency’s press service on its official Telegram channel.

The statement said the aircraft was based at the airfield hosting the 859th Combat Employment and Flight Personnel Retraining Center of the Russian Navy’s Naval Aviation. To destroy the aircraft, a drone equipped with an air-detonating warhead was used, containing approximately 2,000 destructive elements directed downward.
