प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने प्रेरणा स्थल के लोकार्पण के बाद अपने संबोधन में पूर्व मुख्यमंत्री मुलायम सिंह यादव का उल्लेख करते हुए समाजवादी पार्टी और कांग्रेस पर निशाना साधा। उन्होंने कहा कि सेकुलरिज्म का सही अर्थ बिना भेदभाव सभी को सरकारी योजनाओं का लाभ देना है, न कि तुष्टीकरण की राजनीति। पीएम मोदी ने उत्तर प्रदेश की कानून व्यवस्था और विकास की सराहना करते हुए कहा कि पहले यूपी की पहचान खराब कानून व्यवस्था से होती थी, जबकि आज विकास के लिए जानी जाती है। इससे पहले उन्होंने भारत रत्न अटल बिहारी वाजपेयी, श्यामा प्रसाद मुखर्जी और पं. दीन दयाल उपाध्याय की प्रतिमाओं का अनावरण कर श्रद्धांजलि अर्पित की।
