A minor phreatomagmatic eruption occurred at the main crater of Taal Volcano on Friday afternoon, Dec. 26, generating ash jets and plumes that rose up to 600 meters before drifting southwest, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) reported.
