More than a month after China advised its citizens to avoid traveling to Japan, Japanese businesses that rely on Chinese tourists are struggling during what should be their peak travel season.

The Japanese government also feels the pressure from political parties and rallies demanding it to retract its remark in November that a China attack on Taiwan threatening Japan's survival could trigger a military response.
