An elderly man died when the car he was driving reportedly veered into a construction zone before being impaled by a metal rod in an incident at Desa Mawar Farlim in Ayer Itam on Monday (Dec 29).

The victim, Lim Soon Teik, 67, was confirmed dead at the scene, believed to be due to severe injuries to his face.
