Nearly 500 individuals have been evacuated to relief centres in Kota Kinabalu and Beaufort following flooding that began on Saturday (Jan 3).

According to the state Civil Defence Department, as of 8am on Sunday (Jan 4), there were 315 victims from 113 families in Beaufort and 180 victims from 46 households in Kota Kinabalu, totalling nearly 500 displaced individuals. Among them, 218 victims were children.
