Did you know that birds do not urinate like other animals?
Even though birds drink water, their bodies work very differently. Birds do not have a urinary bladder. Instead of liquid urine, their kidneys convert waste into a thick white substance called uric acid.
This uric acid exits the body through the same opening used for waste, called the cloaca. That is why bird droppings have a white part. This smart biological system helps birds stay light, conserve water, and makes flying easier.
