Tafheem-ul-Quran تفہيم القرآن, “Towards Understanding the Qur’an”) is a renowned 6-volume translation and commentary of the Holy Qur’an authored by Maulana Syed Abul A‘la Maududi (1903–1979). Written between 1942 and 1972, it stands as one of the most influential modern works of Qur’anic exegesis.
Maulana Maududi combined classical scholarship with contemporary analysis, addressing themes of faith, morality, economics, politics, sociology, and history. His Tafseer explains Qur’anic verses with references to the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, as well as the historical background of revelation.
