Eclection — Eclection 1968 (UK, Psychedelic, Folk Rock)

Eclection was formed in August 1967 in London. Although nominally considered a British band, they were truly a truly international group. Their lineup included Georg Hultgreen, a Norwegian with Russian roots; Mike Rosen, a Canadian; Kerrilee Male and Trevor Lucas, an Australian; and Gerry Conway, a Brit. They were one of the few folk bands signed to Elektra Records and were a favorite of the company's owner and founder, Jac Holzman. After releasing their only, and quite successful, album in 1968, the band toured extensively in the UK, performing at the Isle of Wight Festival alongside Jimi Hendrix and Bob Dylan, and making a very good impression on both the stars and the audience. But in October 1968, singer Kerrilee Male went home to Australia and was replaced by American singer Dorris Henderson. The group released only one single with her, and in the fall of 1969, they broke up.
