Toe Fat - Toe Fat 1970 (UK, Heavy Prog)
band from London. Famous for being here played Ken Hensley and Lee Kerslake (hereinafter - Uriah Heep) ... The organizer of Toe Fat was Cliff Bennett. His finest hour came in the first half of the sixties, when his band Cliff Bennett and the Rebel Rousers successfully blended into a broad wave of "British invasion" that is sweeping the United States. In 1964 they signed a contract with manager Brian Epstein, lands in this way in his "stable" ... Cliff Bennett had a chance to act, including the opening act for The Beatles, he was well acquainted with the Beatles, and in 1966 Paul McCartney wrote the song Got to Get You into My Life, offered to carry it and even Bennett has produced her record with Rebel Rousers . Their single, Got to Get You into My Life was released before the Beatles album Revolver, which included the song, and was # 6 in the British charts ... In the late 1960s, rock music has changed a lot. In fashion were hard rock and progressive rock. Rebel Rousers gone. In an attempt to keep pace with the times, Cliff Bennett has created a new band Toe Fat. The name he came up one day, having lunch with her manager. The task was to find some most unpleasant to the ear, nasty name. Toe Fat can be translated as "Obesity toe." Apparently this was the fashion at the time, because it associates with Ken Hensley later, too, were looking for some nasty name for their group, and chose rather repulsive image of Uriah Heep in the novel "David Copperfield" by Charles Dickens. It's like Russian rock band named "Smerdyakov" ... Bennett was able to find good musicians: Ken Hensley, Lee Kersleyk drummer and bassist John CONACYT played in the sixties in the blues-rock band The Gods.
