On Monday, officials confirmed that at least 24 people lost their lives in a devastating fire at Gul Plaza, a shopping mall with more than 1,200 shops located on M.A. Jinnah Road in Karachi, Sindh province. The blaze erupted late Saturday and was brought under control after 24 hours, leaving the building badly damaged. Authorities fear more casualties, as around 60 visitors remain missing. Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah reported that many of the recovered bodies were charred beyond recognition. Police suspect the fire may have been triggered by an electrical short circuit, though investigations are ongoing.
