Vietnam has opened its 14th Communist Party Congress in Hanoi, a pivotal political meeting that will determine the country’s top leadership and economic direction through 2030. Party chief To Lam pledged annual economic growth of more than 10% for the rest of the decade, despite global economic and geopolitical challenges. The congress, held every five years, will decide whether Lam retains his leadership role as he pushes forward major bureaucratic and governance reforms.
