Olympic flame traverses canals of Venice

The Olympic flame navigates the famed canals of Venice on Jan. 22, 2026 as the Milano Cortina Olympics quickly approach. Torchbearers carried the flame over the famous bridges of 'The Floating City' as onlookers snapped pictures and cheered. The Olympic torch relay could not have passed through the city without the flame being taken by gondola through the winding canals. Venice was the final stop for the relay on its 46th day touring Italy in the lead-up to the 2026 Winter Games. The 12,000-kilometer journey will end in Milan's San Siro stadium on Feb. 6.
