The game follows the episodic format found in other Telltale titles, where the player's choices and actions influence subsequent events throughout the six episodes. The story revolves around House Forrester, rulers of Ironrath in the north, whose members, including the five playable characters, attempt to save their families and themselves after being on the losing side of the War of the Five Kings.
