A British Airways plane lost one of its wheels during takeoff in Las Vegas on Monday, officials have confirmed. According to aviation outlet FlightRadar24, which recorded the incident during a livestream of the airport, the rear right main landing gear wheel fell off a British Airways Airbus A350-1000 on the evening of Monday, Jan. 26. The flight, BA274, was departing Harry Reid International Airport (LAS) in Nevada for London’s Heathrow Airport. FlightRadar24 reports that about 40 seconds after the aircraft lifted off the runway, sparks began to emerge from the right main landing gear. As the plane continued to ascend, it retracted its landing gear. However, a piece of equipment detached from the Airbus and fell.
