Rio Tinto looking to demolish Jabiru Airport, raising environmental concerns amongst locals

Locals from the Northern Territory town of Jabiru are raising an alarm about the planned closure of the Jabiru airport which has serviced Kakadu National Park. Mining giant Rio Tinto is set to demolish the airport in October as part of its Ranger uranium mine clean-up but locals fear the closure will devastate the region.
