Budget 2026 में Sovereign Gold Bonds यानी SGBs को लेकर बड़ा टैक्स फैसला लिया गया है।अब SGBs पर Capital Gains Tax की छूट सभी निवेशकों को नहीं मिलेगी।पहले RBI या Secondary Market से खरीदे गए SGBs, दोनों पर मैच्योरिटी पर टैक्स-फ्री लाभ मिलता था।लेकिन नए नियमों के तहत टैक्स छूट केवल उन्हीं निवेशकों को मिलेगी, जिन्होंने SGBs को RBI से जारी होने पर खरीदा हो।साथ ही बॉन्ड को पूरी अवधि यानी लगभग 8 साल तक होल्ड करना जरूरी होगा।Secondary Market से खरीदे गए SGBs पर अब मुनाफे पर टैक्स देना होगा।सरकार का मकसद लॉन्ग-टर्म और वास्तविक निवेशकों को प्रोत्साहित करना है।इस फैसले से SGBs का सेकेंडरी मार्केट आकर्षण कम हो सकता है।Budget 2026 का यह कदम गोल्ड निवेशकों के लिए अहम माना जा रहा है।

Budget 2026 introduces a major change in the tax treatment of Sovereign Gold Bonds.Capital gains tax exemption will no longer apply to all SGB investors.Earlier, SGBs bought from RBI or secondary markets enjoyed tax-free gains at maturity.Under the new rule, the exemption will apply only to bonds bought directly from RBI.Investors must also hold the bonds till full maturity of around eight years.SGBs purchased from secondary markets will now attract capital gains tax.The move aims to encourage genuine long-term investment.It also seeks to curb tax-free arbitrage through secondary market purchases.This decision is expected to impact gold investors’ strategies going forward.
