The Plagues of Egypt are a famous part of the biblical book of Exodus, where God sends ten plagues to persuade Pharaoh to free the Israelites from slavery.
Here are the Ten Plagues in order:
Water turned to blood – The Nile River and other water sources became blood.
Frogs – Frogs covered the land, homes, and beds.
Gnats (or lice) – Tiny insects swarmed people and animals.
Flies – Swarms of flies filled Egyptian houses.
Livestock disease – Many Egyptian animals died.
Boils – Painful sores appeared on people and animals.
Hail – A violent storm destroyed crops and trees.
Locusts – They ate what was left of the crops.
Darkness – Thick darkness covered Egypt for three days.
Death of the firstborn – The firstborn in every Egyptian family and animal died, while the Israelites were spared.
These plagues showed God’s power and led Pharaoh to finally let the Israelites leave Egypt, beginning the Exodus.
