Flash — In The Can 1972 (UK, Progressive Rock)

By the time of their next release, Tony Kaye had left the band to pursue his own band, Badger (until 1974). He could later be found with Detective and even Badfinger. By 1983, when Rick Wakeman's ambitions drew him away from Yes, Tony was invited to play keyboards in the band that would make him famous. Instead of searching for a new organist, Peter Banks and the others made the crucial decision to work as a four-piece, taking on the rare keyboard parts themselves. This led to a huge shift away from comparisons with Yes and, naturally, a reliance on guitar sound. Flash's music became denser and more visually robust, as evidenced by their second album, In The Can.
