Credit: MUTV.Michael Carrick says Manchester United are prepared to fill gaps in their schedule in âdifferent waysâ as the club discusses whether to push ahead with mid-season friendlies. The Red Devilsâ first season without European football since 2014/15 was compounded by falling at the first hurdle of both the Carabao Cup and FA Cup, leaving them with their fewest number of games in 111 years. To make up for that shortfall in revenue, former head coach Ruben Amorim confirmed in October that mid-season friendlies were planned to boost the coffers, saying âwe have to do itâ and âcompensate (for) a lot of thingsâ.There are three spaces in the schedule, including a 13-day gap following Tuesdayâs game at West Ham, and Saudi Arabia has long been mentioned as a possible destination for a money-spinning trip.
