The Phra Phom Erawan or Erawan Shrine as it is known is located at what was the Erawan hotel as a Hindu Shrine in 1956.
The hotel is now called Grand Hyatt Erawan Hotel.
In 2006 a mentally disturbed Thai man damaged the shrine with a hammer, he was attacked and beaten to death.
To get to the Erawan shrine you can use the bangkok sky train and get off at Chitlom Station.
