Vintage straight-axle cars, often known as "Gassers", are popular wherever they go. Maybe it's the sky-high stance or the cartoon-like appearance. Or perhaps it's the way these cars transport you to a simpler time when racers would try just about anything to go faster. Whatever it is, these cars draw crowds of people because they look like nothing else on the track. "Mr. Chevy" is a period-perfect example of a 1955 Chevy Hardtop gasser raced from 1968 through 1976 where it was parked. Larry Frees knew the original owner and rescued Mr. Chevy at an estate sale. Today, he shares the car with enthusiasts wherever he goes.
