When Shen Yun Performing Arts took the stage at the Kennedy Center Opera House in Washington, D.C. on Tuesday night, Dr. Izben Williams says he was pleased.

“I was pleased to see the level of performance and to see the breadth of performance. I think it is a very good artistic representation.”

For others, it was the history presented by some of the dances that left an impression.

[Chief Alexander Taku, Secretary General, Human Rights International]:
“It was just wonderful to see, the colorful historical culture of China. And also to imagine how old it is. It is probably the oldest culture in the world.”

The president of Human Rights International, Dr. Lawrence Bland, was also at the show.

“The show this evening was a highlight, I think, on very essential things. Life can be fun and beautiful, if you work in that direction. There doesn’t always have to be a negative approach to everything. And the people all over the world are just people in general. And you have to respect that and admire other cultures.”

The vice president of a local bank said the inner meaning of the Shen Yun performance was profound.

“Today's performance was great and very interesting. Not just the costumes (are great), its inner meaning is also very profound."
