Gabriella Cilmi is gearing up to sing at the Australian Grand Prix.

The Aussie star is set to sing her national anthem at the track in Melbourne.

The 18-year-old said: "My family are all Italian and all the men in my family always go to the Grand Prix and never take the women. But now I'm going, I'm singing the national anthem, I'm the special guest and I'm taking all the ladies with me."

As well as being passionate about music, the chart-topper also keeps an eye on F1, particularly the drivers, and admits to having a soft spot for former British Formula One champion Lewis Hamilton.

Gabriella is currently promoting her second album, called Ten. She said: "It's quite different. I've been inspired by a lot of disco music like Donna Summer and I've been watching a bit too much Flashdance."
