Doing any form of resistance training (endurance, strength, body-weight) does not have a negative effect on the mother or the baby. However, these exercises should be performed in a controlled environment with increased rest periods between sets, keeping the stage of pregnancy in mind. Strength conditioning exercises in the supine position should be avoided specially in late pregnancy.
