Two West Hartford veteran officers are retiring this month and two others have been promoted. All four were recognized at a ceremony on July 2nd. The following information comes from a press release from the Town of West Hartford: Retiring will be Captain William Erickson, who has both served in and supervised the Patrol, Detective, and Traffic Divisions in his 35-year career. He is the Department’s longest-serving current member. Also retiring is Sergeant Douglas Frink, who worked in Patrol, Traffic, and supervised the Community Interaction Team. His nearly 21-year WHPD career was interrupted by service in the first Gulf War, and he was honored as the American Legion "Police Officer of the Year" in 2007. Detective Samuel Ferrucci will be promoted to Sergeant. A nine-year Department member, his rescue of a resident from a Labor Day, 2006 fire put him in the hospital but won the Chief’s Medal of Valor. An Army Reservist, he has served tours in Afghanistan and Iraq. Officer Anthony Anderle will be promoted to Detective. Since joining the Department in 1999 he has been assigned to the Patrol Division, Traffic Division, and the Community Interaction Team. He has received 18 official commendations for good police work, and was the American Legion "Police Officer of the Year" in 2009. He is a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. Distributed by Tubemogul.
