Viennese harpsichordist and fortepianist Isolde Ahlgrimm (1914-1995) performs Bach's Suite in D minor, BWV 812. I recorded this from a Columbia Masterworks LP (ML 4746), issued in November-December 1953. The actual date of recording can be assumed to be sometime in 1952. (You can view the Library of Congress catalog entry for this LP here: http://lccn.loc.gov/r53000721 ) The text that appears in the video are images from the reverse side of the LP jacket. Ahlgrimm was the first to perform and record virtually the entire output of JS Bach for harpsichord. (NB: There is a skip in the LP at about 6:35; my attempts to correct this defect were to no avail. Apologies.)
