Justin Timberlake is apparently in the frame to replace Simon Cowell on American Idol.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, show bosses are very keen for the singer to step in after Simon quit at the end of the last season.

The american magazine is also claiming that producer Nigel Lythgoe may be coming back to Idol after a two year break and word is, he may consider changing the entire judging line-up.

It is not clear whether Randy Jackson, Ellen DeGeneres and Kara DioGuardi will be back for Season Ten later in the year, although there has been little evidence to the contrary.

Other names being linked to the fourth judging spot include Usher, Harry Connick Jr and former panelist Paula Abdul.
