One of Marika Rökk's most popular movies was "Kora Terry" (1940), a musical/crime drama in which she plays twin sisters Kora and Mara Terry.... Kora is evil and Mara a goody two shoes. Kora seduces the young musician whom Mara is secretly in love with (and then dumps him). When Mara accidentally kills Kora during an argument she is forced to take Kora's place in order to care for Kora's little daughter.... Then Kora's past catches up with Mara....
The movie featured several songs that became evergreens : "Für eine nacht voller Seligkeit" (For a night full of happiness), "Wenn es Frühling wird" (When spring comes) and "Im Leben geht alles vorüber" (Nothing lasts in life) as well as elaborate dance numbers.... The movie enjoyed great popularity - not only in Germany but in many parts of (occupied) Europe as well.
