Herbert von Karajan (1908-1989) conducts the Berlin Philharmonic in this 1966 performance of the third movement (Allegro assai) of Bach's Brandenburg Concerto No. 2 in F major, BWV 1047. I created this video from the LP depicted in the video above, entitled "Brandenburgilche Konzerte, Orchestersuiten 2 und 3," and issued by Deutsche Grammophon, serial number 138976/78. The black and white images of Bach and von Karajan, as well as those of the printed text, are taken from the booklet that is included in the boxed set.

Movement 3: Allegro assai

Adolf Scherbaum, trumpet; Lothar Koch, oboe; Michel Schwalbé, violin; Karlheinz Zöller, flute.
