All Mazda5's are equipped with a 2.3 liter inline four cylinder motor which is good for 153 horsepower. Unlike previous years, variable valve timing, which improves engine efficiency, is now standard on all models. Entry level 5's dubbed "Sport" have a five-speed manual transmission as standard equipment but most are equipped with the new five-speed automatic gearbox. All Mazda5's have three rows or seating and can hold six people.
