In 1972 Uruguay's rugby squad endured a harrowing struggle for survival when its plane crashed in the Andes and its members made it through 72 days in the cold wilderness by eating the remains of companions. Survivors from that tragedy are due to visit the Chilean miners trapped deep underground, who face several months before their expected rescue.
