Bernie Nolan hopes to inspire other cancer sufferers. The singer and actress, who is battling breast cancer, attended the TV Choice Awards in London and showed off her bald head.

Bernie said: "I've come out without a wig to say to all those people who might have the same illness as me, 'you do what you want'. If you want to go bald, sod what people think. You are who you are."

Bernie, 49, was diagnosed in April. She is the third member of The Nolans to fight the disease and is staying upbeat as she nears the end of her treatment.

"I've got my last chemo this Thursday, so I'm really excited about that.

"I've got my operation on the 8th of October, so by Christmas it'll all be over," said Bernie.
