A granstand has collapsed injuring over 100 people at a car race in the southern Brazilian city of Quatro Pontes.

Authorities say around 200 people were watching the race in Parana state when the structure fell apart.

Six people were rushed to a hospital in a neighboring city and two are still in hospital in serious condition.

Firemen at the scene said the company that organized the event did not call them to inspect the installation before the event.

The city's government will investigate the causes of the accident.
