David Beckham is taking legal action following an article in a US magazine claiming he has had an affair.

The latest addition of In Touch is running a story accusing the footballer of cheating on his wife Victoria in 2007.

However Beckham's people say the story is absolutely false.

Their statement reads: "'The allegations that have been made are completely untrue and ridiculous as the magazine was clearly told before publication.

"Sadly we live in a world where a magazine can print lies and believe they can get away with it."
