Coronation Street fans were treated to a one hour live episode, to mark the soaps 50th anniversary.

Millions watched as two characters died, including Ashley Peacock (Steven Arnold), whose death was announced by a medic: "We've found his body. There's no sign of life."

And Molly Dobbs (Vicky Binns), who revealed the identity of baby Jack's father on her death bed to a horrified Sally (Sally Whittaker): "It's Kevin. I'm so sorry."

The episode went without a hitch, with all the cast giving emotional and dramatic performances.

Including Jennie McAlpine (Fiz) who screamed so hard her face looked like it might explode as she acted out giving birth to a baby girl.
