A song written and recorded as part of a music production course at Wigan & Leigh College. Recently ‘rediscovered’, it became a new video project.
Fellow student, Lee Phillips came up with the song, with a lyric by Louise Lee. I brought to the project the singer’s perspective; and Lee and I worked on the song tweaking it and taking it into the college recording studio. A rocky little number that chugs along quite nicely.
Guitars and vocals by me; on bass Steve Oats - his is the neat guitar solo; Ian Sharrock played keyboard. Lee Phillips engineered the project, with help from other 'students' (Andrew, Tom and Sharon).
June 2010: Brother, Kevan Buckley and I produced the video around Lee Hall and its glen in Westhoughton (near Bolton). I got to stand on a hill by a lake playing guitar like they do in the best music videos!
I'm pleased with the edit - it almost looks like a proper video!
