"The hoopoe is a colourful Bird. The Hoopoe is a medium sized bird, Size is about 30 cm with a long, slender and gently curved bill.. The diet of the Hoopoe is mostly composed of insects, although small reptiles and frogs. It is named for its call, ""hoo-poo."" It has a showy, semicircular crest and mixed reddish-brown, black, and white plumage. The bill is long and curved, the legs short. Its tail is wedge-shaped. Common Hoopoe (Upopa epops) is a very common breeding resident, found in the wooded and open areas of Haryana. Locally called 'Hudhud', it is a fawn colored bird with black and white zebra stripes on its back.
