A 6.8 earthquake strikes the India-Nepal border.
At least nine people were killed
Aftershocks measuring 6.1 and 5.3 on the Richter scale followed the main tremor. Tremors were felt across Northeastern India and reached the national Capital Delhi.
Several earthquakes have hit north and east India this year, but none have caused major damage or injuries.
In Katmandu, four people were injured when a wall separating the Indian and British embassies collapsed during the quake. All of them were rushed to hospital but three died during treatment.
