http://www.FTV.com/videos NEW YORK - Narciso Rodriguez, while typically remaining a minimalist designer, is known for dressing up his gals. So we were all but a bit shocked when his minimalist collection for Spring/Summer 2012 was very casual. But not only did he go for casual, he also went for colorful at New York Fashion Week. Meaning not minimalist at all. Meaning color in the hair, color blocking in the clothes and prints, prints, prints! Rodriguez based his collection on the artwork of Korean artist Kim Joon, who was also known for many body tattoos, which were similar to the graphics and squiggles Rodriguez's surprising collection. And like other designers this season at NYFW (Thakoon for example,) hair was painted to add life and color to the entire line. The color blocking was unique but strange because it looked patches were put together to form a dress. It looked haphazardly done--yet the critics raved! After all, it's Narciso Rodriguez!
